Murray was never able to get going in Toronto, as recurring injuries kept popping up limiting his progress. With his Cap Hit being $4.867 million, his inability to stay healthy and inconsistent performances make him a liability to Toronto. If he's moved to Winnipeg, it provides him with a fresh start in a very interesting situation. The Jets have been rumored to be entering a rebuild, and superstar goalie Connor Hellebuyck may be on his way out. If Winnipeg moves on for Hellebuyck, Murray would be the unquestioned starter, something he hasn't been since his glory days in Pittsburgh. As for Blake Wheeler, his year in Manitoba was turbulent to say the least. He had his captaincy stripped from him by new coach Rick Bowness, and divisions in the locker room became an open secret in the hockey world.
