Following yet another disappointing and injury-riddled season, Maple Leafs goaltender Matt Murray appears to be on the move once again.

Staying in Canada?

A mock trade has emerged online sending Murray to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Jets Captain Blake Wheeler.

The trade would see the Jets retain $1.25 million of Wheeler's cap hit, making the money work for both sides.

Fresh Starts

Both of these players involved in the trade could use fresh starts.

Murray was never able to get going in Toronto, as recurring injuries kept popping up limiting his progress.

With his Cap Hit being $4.867 million, his inability to stay healthy and inconsistent performances make him a liability to Toronto.

If he's moved to Winnipeg, it provides him with a fresh start in a very interesting situation.

The Jets have been rumored to be entering a rebuild, and superstar goalie Connor Hellebuyck may be on his way out.

If Winnipeg moves on for Hellebuyck, Murray would be the unquestioned starter, something he hasn't been since his glory days in Pittsburgh.

As for Blake Wheeler, his year in Manitoba was turbulent to say the least.

He had his captaincy stripped from him by new coach Rick Bowness, and divisions in the locker room became an open secret in the hockey world.

After the Jets were eliminated by Vegas, Wheeler took issue with Bowness's harsh words towards his teams performance.

Wheeler would provide valuable winger depth to a team losing multiple forwards to free agency, like Michael Bunting and Alex Kerfoot.

A fresh start is what both these players need, and they both fill holes in their respective clubs, now the question is will it happen?
