According to some information currently circulating around the Montreal Canadiens, there would be a good chance of seeing a former first round pick of the organization in the CH affiliates.

Indeed, while he recently finished his season with HC Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia, Nikita Scherbak would be looking for a new club for the next season, and everything indicates that there could be a direct link with the Trois-Rivières Lions, the Laval Rocket's training club.

The ECHL team would be a real possibility since the 27-year-old forward lives and trains in Montreal during the summer and his wife is from Quebec.

Obviously, a player like Scherbak, even if his career never blossomed as anticipated at the time of his draft, could become a great headliner for the Lions, as well as potentially help out the Rocket during the season.

Remember that the Russian player has already scored 30 points in 26 games in Laval, in the AHL, during the 2017-2018 season.
