One of the hot issues for the Habs right now is the use of Juraj Slafkovsky. Fans are still wondering why the young Slovakian didn't participate in the World Junior Championship. Slaf is limited to about 12 minutes per game on a third or fourth line. Let's just say that we can understand why fans are disappointed, since number 20 would have many more quality minutes in the AHL. Speaking on 98.5 FM, Vincent Lecavalier answered quite clearly whether Slaf belongs in the NHL. I think he does. You see guys at 18 sometimes who are not there physically. And he's there! He has to build his confidence -Vincent Lecavalier

This means that the organization believes that Slafkovsky deserves his spot, but that he needs to build his confidence. Maybe he would do a better job of building that confidence in the AHL, but that doesn't seem to be an option right now.
