A forward has just set a new record for the U.S. National Development Program (USNDTP) with his 118th point this season, surpassing the mark previously set by Auston Matthews.

Gabriel Perreault is having an outstanding season and is likely to be selected in the first round of the upcoming draft. The forward has collected more points than his teammate, Will Smith, who, according to many analysts, will go out in the top 5 on June 28.

Best seasons in American program history.

1. Gabriel Perreault (2022-2023): 125 points2. Will Smith (2022-2023): 118 points3. Auston Matthews (2014-2015): 117 points4. Jack Hughes (2017-2018): 116 points5. Jack Hughes (2018-2019): 112 points6. Clayton Keller (2015-2016): 107 points7. Patrick Kane (2005-2006): 102 points8. Cole Caufield (2018-2019): 100 points

Ranked as the 10th best North American prospect by NHL Central Scouting, Perreault may very well still be available when the Habs staff announces the selection of their second first-round pick.

There is no doubt that the son of Yanic Perreault (former Tricolore player) could be a very interesting choice for the Habs.
