Minnesota Wild GM Bill Guerin slammed his own team after Calgary Flames' Rasmus Andersson did something he felt was unacceptable to Marc-Andre Fleury.

Minnesota Wild general manager and president Bill Guerin did not try to sugarcoat his disappointment with his team's current performance, especially following Saturday's loss to the Calgary Flames.

Rasmus Andersson punched Marc-Andre Fleury in the face

Guerin showed disappointment in seeing no reaction when Rasmus Andersson punched goalie Marc-Andre Fleury in a second-period shoving match. As Mats Zuccarello fought Andersson to the ice, the act did little to impress Guerin.

«He had his way with us,» Guerin told Michael Russo of the performance from Andersson. «Like, it was not fun to watch, I'll tell you that. The funny thing is that's not who this group of players is. It's really hard to figure out but we're gonna figure it out.»

«No, f- that. F- that,» Guerin said. «You can be low on energy and still play well. You've got to use your head. You know what? Everybody's tired. Everybody has a condensed schedule. Everybody has injuries. Everybody in the league has what we have. There's no excuse whatsoever for any of this.»

Andersson subsequently scored with eight seconds remaining in the period, widening Calgary's lead to 3-1 in an eventual 5-4 win. To add salt to the wounds, Andersson glared at the Wild bench following his goal.

The Wild recovered with a 4-2 win over the flailing Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, but with only three wins in its last nine, its win column is hardly filled with momentum.

Minnesota, 29-17-4, sits in third in the Central Division, nine points out of first place in the division and trailing the Winnipeg Jets.

Minnesota entered January strong, 26-11-4, and tied with the Jets for first in the division, but in the weeks following, an increasingly durable Dallas Stars took over for second in the division.

The general manager and president is calling for more grit in his crew, starting a five-game stretch of its current road trip, with challenging contests in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Boston.

With key notables such as Kirill Kaprizov and Jared Spurgeon returning recently, Guerin expects to rekindle the edge in its unit
