It's a big year for Kyle Bukauskas, and honestly, it's hard to believe he's only 30.

For the past decade, he's been the face of Toronto Maple Leafs coverage as the rinkside reporter, and he's already built a career full of incredible NHL moments. Now, Bukauskas is taking on a new role as he joins Elliotte Friedman on the "32 Thoughts" podcast.

He replaces Jeff Marek, who was let go after 13 years at Sportsnet for leaking unauthorized 2024 NHL Draft info.

In many ways, Kyle is following in the footsteps of Ron MacLean, another western Canadian known for his smooth and professional style. MacLean also jumped into the Hockey Night in Canada spotlight early, taking over as host in his mid-20s during the 1986-87 season. Bukauskas is on his way to carving out a legacy of his own.

He's poised to deliver deeper insights and fresh perspectives on the game in a podcast that's become essential listening for hockey fans. 32 Thoughts will feel different with Bukauskus in the mix, but with his experience, the transition should be seamless for the network and its loyal listeners as the 2024-25 NHL season approaches.
