Tyson Barrie was recently named the top remaining unsigned free agent by experts around the league, and he's been now linked to three teams. A recent article from the Hockey Writers shows that three teams remain in the pursuit of Tyson Barrie. They are the Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers. Each of these teams would love to have the services of a veteran puck moving defenseman, and Barrie could slot in nicely as a 6th or 7th d-man. Daily Faceoff has reported that teams are likely going to sign Tyson Barrie to a one-year contract as opposed to a professional tryout unlike some other players out there. The one-year contract would likely be for the league minimum salary.

Tyson Barrie's best days were definitely while he was a member of the Edmonton Oilers and prior to that as well, as the moment he was traded to the Nashville Predators, everything took a nose dive. He was injured multiple times last season as well as being a healthy scratch and only ended up playing 40 games, scoring one single goal and 14 assists. He had a very hard time being responsible defensively as his plus/minus was a horrible -10. The Preds made the playoffs but sadly Barrie only played one game, and sat out the rest. Tyson Barrie's time with the Oilers was a whole different story as he was able to hit 40 points and up for three straight seasons and was excellent on the powerplay. No matter where Tyson Barrie ends up, he was a beloved player in the locker room as well as among the fans, so they will be wishing him the best. Barrie is only 33 years old, so while his best days may be behind him, he still has a lot that he can offer teams for a few more years, so hopefully a fresh start will get his career going again.
