The Edmonton Oilers have dealt with plenty of drama during Evander Kane's tenure, and now the veteran may be on the way out in the near future. Evander Kane has been a problem seemingly everywhere he goes in the NHL, and after some speculation this past season that his behaviour was becoming an issue in the locker room, the team may have soured on him. While there's nothing imminent on the trade front, new reports have revealed that Kane may actually be drawing interest from some teams, with the Pacific Division rival Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings monitoring his situation.

Unsurprisingly, those situations are much less appealing than Edmonton on the back of a Stanley Cup Finals appearance, so that report comes with the caveat that he doesn't want to waive his no-movement clause at this time. If he continues to get less and less playing time in favour of those younger players coming through the organization, that may change however, so we will see how the beginning of the 2024/25 season plays out. During his tenure in Edmonton, Kane has skated in 161 games, netting 61 goals and 111 points, and while he's dealt with injuries, he has played fairly well, but hasn't quite had the physical impact the team were hoping for. Whether it's this or the locker room drama that causes his departure, it may just be a matter of time until that happens, so keep a close eye on two key divisional rivals of the Edmonton Oilers over the next few months.
