This evening a report from Elliotte Friedman revealed a shocking report that a player in consideration for the 4 Nation Face-Off Tournament was blacklisted for a wild reason. Earlier this week Sweden, Canada, USA, and Finland revealed their initial rosters for the 4 Nations Face Off Tournament. After the announcements were made the hockey world was flooded with debate over whether or not the right selections were made. Sportsnet even put together a list of players from Team Canada that were snubbed and should've potentially been named to the team.

With the rosters now set a new report has come out from Elliotte Friedman revealing that one player reacted so poorly to not being selected he was blacklisted from being named as a replacement.
Elliotte Friedman confirms one player has been blacklisted by his national team
Friedman this afternoon reported that one player when he was told he had not made his country's team for the 4 Nations Face-Off reacted in a disrespectful and shocking way. I heard there was one player that, when he was told he didn't make the team, reacted so negatively that the team decided they won't even bring them as an injury replacement if it gets to that. I was, like, wow. That's pretty serious stuff. While Friedman did not reveal the player he said that the player crossed a line that the management felt was too far and have now blacklisted him from being selected to the team even as an injury replacement. Like, they were shocked at how, or, I don't know if shocked, they were disappointed at how negatively the player reacted, Friedman said. That's a tough one for me. I don't know exactly what was said... I don't know if they considered it open disrespect or whatever it was, but I don't think I would cross that line. As of now, this player has not been identified but all eyes will be on national team selections going forward. If one particular star continues to not be selected then that could give us an answer as to who was the culprit of this terrible moment. The 4 Nations Face-Off kicks off on February 12th where all eyes from the hockey world will finally get to see best on best international hockey once again.
