In 52 games this year, Tavares has produced 15 goals and 40 points, so he's still playing at a very high level, but with the improvements of both McMann and Robertson, it's highly likely that this is just a way for the team to continue having their two young standouts firing alongside someone much more experienced. We will see if this demotion continues going forward or if its just an experiment, but its certainly something to keep an eye on for the Maple Leafs as they take on the Arizona Coyotes.
