In Boston, players who miss team meetings suffer the consequences. We've seen it many times in the past, most notably with Jake DeBrusk. He arrived late at a meeting and was benched for an entire game.

It happened again a few days ago, when Derek Forbort missed a team meeting. He was scratched on Monday against the Kraken, then again last night against the Golden Knights.

"Derek Forbort will not play. Missed a team meeting."

"#Bruins defensman Derek Forbort overslept in Seattle. "It's on me," he said. His first call was from Jake DeBrusk (who missed a meeting earlier this season in LA) with the message "you'll get through this," Forbort said with a smile following Thursday's morning skate."

According to multiple reports, the Boston Bruins won't extend Derek Forbort's contract, which expires after the current season.

If they don't plan on keeping him, trading him at the deadline it the most likely outcome.

"Given his recent play and now this, I wouldn't be surprised to see Forbort on a new team by the March 8, 3 p.m. ET NHL Trade Deadline."

The Bruins will definitely be a team to follow in the coming week, as we get closer to the trade deadline.

Updates will follow.
