Tonight a massive piece of news was released regarding the ongoing trade saga involving Calgary Flames defenseman Noah Hanifin. The news gives fans a sneak peek at where Hanifin might end up in a trade.

Hanifin Turns Down All Extensions Leading To Inevitable Trade

In the last several weeks trade rumors have continued to increase for several players. One player that has been talked about the most is Noah Hanifin.

Multiple sources have confirmed recently that the Flames are expected to trade Hanifin after he has refused to sign an extension. With his contract expiring a trade seems to be the only logical outcome.

To this point, the landing spots for Hanifin in a trade have been relatively unknown. He has been linked to the Maple Leafs much like every other available defenseman. However, a new report has leaked where Hanifin prefers to end up.

Hanifin Reveals His Preferred Destination With Leaked No-Trade List

Earlier today a report from NHL insider Chris Johnston gave fans an inside look into the Noah Hanifin saga. According to Johnston, the theme regarding Hanifin's no-trade list is he wants to get out of Canada.

He's got some say in the matter. He's got eight teams on a no-trade clause - a limited no-trade clause. I'm told that they're not all Canadian teams and that there's maybe an open destination there. But the feeling is he's going to end up south of the border because it is believed to be his preference to sign his next contract somewhere in the U.S. As we look for destinations where he might land there's a number of teams with interest but keep your eye on the Tampa Bay Lightning . They're always the stealth operators at the deadline and they're believed to be looking at him with Mikhail Sergachev out injured.

As has been reported in recent days the Tampa Bay Lightning are a team that Hanifin would love to play for. The Lightning are notorious for making one major deadline acquisition a year so watch out for Hanifin to potentially land back out East.
