The NHL revealed four new rules that will begin to change hockey starting in the 2024-25 season.

These changes will effect various aspects of the league, with a focus on enhancing video review opportunities. While they might not drastically change the game, they show the NHL's commitment to modernize the sport. Here are the new rules to keep an eye on:
.Expansion of coach's challenge for puck-over-glass (only to challenge a called penalty, not to put one on the board).

2.Attacking players now get warned instead of removed from face off following an icing call.

3.Inadvertently knocking the net off rule (64.A iv)will now also apply to goalies (if they or anyone on the team does it, attacking team gets to choose face off location in o-zone and defending team can't change).

4.Rule 75.3 instituted for unsportsmanlike conduct-offending team will be first warned (and then penalized if they didn't heed the warning) for players hanging over the boards prior to a line change.

Fans have been asking some interesting questions about the NHL's new rules. For instance, why make puck-over-glass a coach's challenge when you can just review it directly if needed?
Why does pick over glass need to be a coach's challenge? Just review it if necessary. The play is already stopped

On another note, some are upset that the interpretation of goaltender interference hasn't been addressed. It's a topic that sparks controversy in hockey circles.
But let's not fix goaltender inteference, its going so well right
