The NHL has seen major success with the expansion into the Vegas and Seattle Markets, and with the money coming in, it's clear that the league want to look into expansion again.

Two more teams coming to the NHL?

Over the past few months, we've heard the rumblings that Atlanta, Quebec, Salt Lake City and Houston among others have all been looking to host the NHL's next franchise, and now, one Insider has revealed the NHL's plans.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, it appears the NHL have already decided on who their next two franchise's will be.

It's been a bit quieter on the expansion chatter lately, because of the deadline, but it's sounding like there's continued progress towards Atlanta 3.0 and word of a proposed arena district seems to have Sept/Oct timeline. Utah 33. Atlanta 34.

This should come as no surprise to anyone that's been following along, as Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith has been pushing hard for a team to come to Salt Lake City, and with a potential plan for a new arena in Atlanta, it's no shock that the NHL will try their hand for the third time there.

Ultimately, with the amount of talent in the AHL and in Europe, the NHL can sustain teams 33 and 34, but beyond that, they may be going a bit too far, so let's see if this is the final expansion the NHL will take for a very, very long time.
