22-year old Matt Rempe has taken the NHL by storm with his size and physical play in the past few weeks, to the point where he has become one of the most talked about players in the league.
Should Rempe face a suspension for his hit?
During his first matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Rempe drew headlines once more when he fought veteran Ryan Reaves, but that wasn't the only talking point coming out of the game. What prompted that fight with Reaves was a massive hit on defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin, with many calling for him to face consequences giving the nature of his charge and leaving his feet. LOOK OUT FOR REMPE!!

Paul Bissonnette speaks out after the hit
One NHL personality doesn't believe so despite all of the uproar on social media, with Spittin Chiclets host and former NHLer Paul Bissonnette claiming that there's no suspension worthy play here. Not a suspension. He's the closest forechecker to him and he just puts on the burners. Rempe could turn a playoff series around with a few of these types of hits. He's a mutant. Valuable if he keeps toeing the line the way he has.

It's become clear that the league are being much more lenient with Rempe given the excitement he's brought back to the physical style of hockey, but by the rulebook, it's hard to argue that there should be at the very least a fine for this play.
