Nick Cousins Drops the Gloves With Jason Zucker

The NHL's most hated player is Florida's Nick Cousins and he just dropped the gloves with Nashville's Jason Zucker.

Cousins has quickly become one of the NHL's most hated players after delivering several dirty high hits this season. That has landed him on the radar for several team's tough guys, including Nashville's Jason Zucker.

Last night, Jason Zucker and Nick Cousins dropped the gloves in a heated fight, as Nick Cousins finally answered the bell for his past. The fight was spirited, as both parties landed shots and eventually made their way to the ice.

Nick Cousins has a bad past with cheap headshots on a number of players this year.

Jason Zucker was involved with Nick Cousins' previous dirty play when he was a member of the Arizona Coyotes earlier this season. During the play, Nick Cousins took a run at one of the Coyotes' players who was down on one knee near the boards. This resulted in Jason Zucker hitting Nick Cousins from behind.


While Nick Cousins does deserve the criticism for his actions this season, at the very minimum he at least answered the bell last game against Jason Zucker. He could have been like Dubois, and tried to avoid a fight. I wouldn't have put it past him to duck the fight when Zucker was proposing it. However, this does not change or erase the season that Nick Cousins has had, and he will have to answer for his other past wrongs eventually.
