RUMOR: Maple Leafs and Penguins to Make a Goalie Trade

Earlier today, The Athletic released their predictions for this year's trade deadline. They made an interesting bet concerning the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Josh Yohe, reporter covering the Pittsburgh Penguins for The Athletic, predicted that the Penguins will trade a goalie. Either Alex Nedeljkovic or Tristan Jarry could move before the deadline. Yohe added that the Maple Leafs could be in the running for one of them.

"The Penguins almost certainly won't make the playoffs at this point, and right now, their team strength is goaltending. I could see Tristan Jarry or Alex Nedeljkovic being moved before the deadline. Both have been excellent. Pittsburgh also has a couple of good goaltending prospects in the system.

Many teams � Toronto, Carolina and Colorado, among many others � could use a boast between the pipes and might be willing to pay quite a price for Jarry or Nedeljkovic. � Josh Yohe"

Dubas, who has an extensive knowledge of the assets in Toronto, could be interested in bringing one of his former players to Pittsburgh.

However, with Joseph Woll slowly getting back into it, the Leafs might not need a goaltender as much as they did earlier this season. There are also other teams in the running, such as the Hurricanes and the Avalanche. Considering this, Toronto's chances of reaching a deal with Dubas for a goalie seems thin.
