According to a new report from Elliotte Friedman and other sources the Edmonton Oilers have made a trade with the Boston Bruins.

With the trade deadline just a couple of days away the Oilers have decided to take a big swing and acquire multiple forwards.

The Oilers are making a three way trade involving the Bruins and the New Jersey Devils.

Trent Frederic and Max Jones will be heading to Edmonton bringing them much needed depth and skill to the middle of their lineup.

According to further reports the full details of the trade have now been confirmed with Jones and Frederic both heading to Edmonton along with the rights to Petr Hauser.

The Oilers did have to give up one of the draft picks they received from losing Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg in restricted free agency.

In Frederic the Oilers are getting one of the biggest names on the trade market.

At 27 years old, Frederic has been a consistent third line center for the Bruins for several years now.

He will be able to step in and fill the Ryan McLeod role that has been so desperately missed this season.

As for Max Jones he is a former first round pick who has struggled to find his way in the NHL as a top-six forward but has been a solid depth player everywhere he goes.

The Edmonton Oilers have been in major need of offensive depth to supplement Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

With this trade Stan Bowman made sure to check that box with a big swing.

As more details are made available we will pass along the latest details to you.
