A new report coming from NHL insider David Pagnotta has confirmed what the price is expected to be to trade for San Jose Sharks defenseman Mario Ferraro and who might be interested. The San Jose Sharks were one of the worst teams in the NHL this season and are deep in a rebuild. Despite winning the NHL Draft Lottery and securing Macklin Celebrini they are still looking to offload players for future assets. Today a report has confirmed that the Sharks are looking to potentially trade one of their top defensemen Mario Ferraro. According to David Pagnotta while the Sharks are open to the idea of trading Mario Ferraro the price is going to be steep including a first-round pick. I am not sure what type of return the Sharks want for Ferraro, but if they go the package route, I would imagine a first-round draft pick is part of the ask, along with a top-ranked prospect and possibly another high asset. And given his attractive cap hit, it's understandable why Grier would hold firm. Pagnotta said. This is a steep price but Mario Ferraro was one of the few players who stood out on a truly terrible Sharks team this past season. Due to that there still seems to be plenty of interest in the 25-year-old defenseman. Teams mentioned by David Pagnotta include the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, and several others. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Nashville Predators, Calgary Flames, Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks are among the teams believed to have varying levels of interest in Ferraro, some going back to the middle of the season. Pagnotta said. With the NHL Draft fast approaching it remains to be seen what the San Jose Sharks will do with Mario Ferraro. If they do trade him the draft in Las Vegas could be an eventful night for the rebuild of the San Jose Sharks.
