This off-season, we've seen several intriguing names depart the NHL for Europe, and now the KHL have landed a former Ducks top pick. In the past few days, star forward Evgeny Kuznetsov shocked the NHL world by announcing his departure to the KHL, and now he has been followed by Maxime Comtois, a former second-round pick of the Anaheim Ducks. According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the 25-year old winger will link up with Dynamo Moscow of the KHL after spending the last few years in Carolina. Maxime Comtois has signed in the KHL with Dynamo Moscow.

Comtois' career in Anaheim started full of promise, but after a career high of 33 points, he never quite took the next step, spending 64 games with the AHL's Chicago Wolves a season ago. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 210 pounds, Comtois has the size and the tools needed to be a star in hockey, and with plenty of years ahead of him, this may not be the last we've seen of him in the NHL. Unfortunately for the Quebec native, there's just not a spot for him right now, but if he continues to grow, he still has the time to be a solid contributor at the professional hockey level.
