The buzz around the NHL offseason has been all about Linus Ullmark and his potential trade from the Boston Bruins, and now it's happening. Ullmark had a significant say in this with his 16-team no-trade clause, giving him some control over GM Don Sweeny's negotiations. He has just one season left on his contract at $5 million.

During his time in Boston, he even clinched a Vezina Trophy back in 2023 and the Williams Jennings trophy with Jermey Swayman. Last season, Ullmark put up solid numbers with a 22-10-7 record, a .915 save percentage, and a 2.57 goals against average. But it was his standout performance in his Vezina-winning season, 2022-23 that turned heads, going 40-6-1 with an incredible .938 save percentage and a 1.89 goals against average. Rumors pointed to the Ottawa Senators as the top contender to snag him, despite Ottawa being on Ullmark's no-trade list. However, recent reports suggest he might be open to waiving that for Ottawa—provided they work out the necessary contract extension. These rumors have now been confirmed as Linus Ullmark will be headed to the nations capital.
