Brad Marchand isn't ready to call it quits from the Bruins and the NHL just yet, however, he did reveal what he would like to do post-career, and it's quite comical. Hockey players understand their careers won't last forever, which is why many prioritize academics before entering the NHL, ensuring they have a backup plan for life beyond the rink. At 36, Bruins captain Brad Marchand may be inching toward the twilight of his playing career and probably only a few years away from retirement. In a recent interview, Brad Marchand did let slip some thoughts about life after hockey. Asked about a possible broadcasting career, he confided that it's surely a subject now under discussion, particularly since enjoying some on-air good times recently, courtesy of Paul Bissonnette.

Marchand said, though, he thinks that although the concept is interesting, he'd rather syndicate a radio package deal of humor and camaraderie than a news/talk on-air debate that is all too serious. I haven't thought a ton about it. It's come up a couple of times more recently because of the interactions with Bizz. I would be way more interested in doing something like that where guys are having fun. I don't have a ton of interest in sitting down and just being serious on a panel. I like having a good time and the friendly banter and they do a really good job with that. So that would be something I probably would be interested in some capacity down the road. Hopefully it's a long ways down the road. But the way that it's going and how much fun they seem to have, it's definitely something that I would be intrigued with. - Brad Marchand

For now, Marchand is all-in on what happens on the ice. But when that day does come, broadcasting could be an option. And to teammate Charlie McAvoy, Marchand has the personality for it, the charisma that translates across television sets everywhere. He's got the personality for it. That's for sure. I know he's got a good relationship with those guys. He might be setting the table for his next act. He'd be hysterical. There's nobody better at the jabs and the chirps. They might be worried to give him a microphone. - Charlie McAvoy As fans, we're excited to see what the future holds for Marchand after retirement. In the meantime, we'll enjoy watching him lead the Bruins on the ice.
