The Boston Bruins dropped game three to the Florida Panthers 6-2 today. However, the larger story is that fans started throwing trash on the ice after a goaltender interference call against Jakub Lauko. The play came as Lauko was trying to drive to the net, cutting to the inside against Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad. It appeared as though Lauko had drawn a penalty on the play for holding, but the referees instead chose to call Lauko for goaltender interference. Jakub Lauko called for goalie interference here:

Even the broadcasters were confused by the play. The TNT crew on the U.S. feed though that the referees had signaled for holding against Ekblad and were quite confused when the only call was against Lauko for goaltender interference. Clearly, Bruins fans were not happy with the call as many started throwing bottles and other random trash on the ice after the play. Bruins fans were absolutely irate that Boston got a penalty for this play and Florida didn't. Thoughts on the call?

The call did seem to spark some life in the Bruins, who scored two goals after the play. However, it would not be enough as the Panthers would go on to win 6-2.

Be sure to stay tuned to see how the Bruins respond in game four. Will they even the series, or will the Panthers take a commanding 3-1 series lead?
