The Edmonton Oilers and the NHL are reportedly investigating Oilers Assistant Coach Paul Coffey after it was reported that he made racial gestures during the Oilers' last game.

The Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks are in the midst of a heated series, however, the attention has gone somewhere else. It was reported that Paul Coffey made a racial gesture towards a fan during the last game, and now the NHL and the Edmonton Oilers are investigating the incident.

The NHL is investigating allegations that Oilers Assistant Coach Paul Coffey made racist gestures to a fan with a turban during game 1

This is very disheartening if it is true, and reports are going viral on social media that are saying the investigation is underway. It has also been noted that Coffey has been under fire before for using racial language towards an opposing coach during a minor hockey game.

According to The Hockey News, the NHL is investigating allegations that Oilers assistant coach Paul Coffey allegedly made racist gestures to a fan with a turban during game 1.

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Coffey has found himself in the midst of such a situation. Back in 2014, while coaching minor hockey, he was suspended for using a "discriminatory slur" directed at another coach.

Hopefully, for the Oilers and all hockey fans, the investigation will unveil the truth and justice will prevail.
