There are few hockey families more prominent in Alberta than Sutter, and now, former Johnny Gaudreau coach Darryl opens up on one of his favourite players. Over the past week, the tributes for Johnny Gaudreau from the entire NHL family have been endless, with so many revealing the incredible player, teammate and person that he truly was. Now, one of the people who were most influential in his career has opened up on the tragic passing, with former Head Coach Darryl Sutter joining the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast with his son Chris (also a beloved figure in Calgary) to talk about Johnny Hockey.

The usually tough and stern Sutter was clearly struggling to find the words to describe Johnny, but ultimately mentioned how he was a hard worker, a great scorer and above all else, a great person away from the ice. In the past, the two certainly had their differences, especially after Gaudreau departed for Columbus as a free agent, but at the end of the day, there was clearly immense respect and love between the two, as Sutter becomes one of countless people to pay tribute to Johnny, who was beloved by so many around the world.
