The answer may not change, but I do think it's an agenda item as they lead up to free agency. </q> Sure, there's talk about the possibility of a one-day contract down the line, but wouldn't it be more impactful if he spent his final season on the ice in Chicago? That's the dream scenario for both Kane and the organization. With a new wave of prospects on the rise, the Blackhawks are gearing up for a fresh start led by a new core led by Connor Bedard. GM Kyle Davidson already made tough decisions in the past, like letting go of Kane and captain Jonathan Toews, and they're hoping to avoid any awkward conversations if showtime decides to stick around longer than expected.It's possible Kane's return might not align with the team's vision for the future.
