The Columbus Blue Jackets are still reeling after the loss of Johnny Gaudreau, and now they've announced how the team will honour him moving forward.

Johnny Gaudreau may have spent just two seasons in Columbus, but over that time and his previous stint in Calgary, he became beloved by the city for his infectious personality on and off the ice, as well as his thrilling play. After his tragic passing, the tributes have continued pouring in for he and his brother Matthew, and now, the team have revealed just how the pair will be honoured throughout the 2024/25 season.

Firstly, the team will all wear stickers honouring both brothers on their helmet in the pre-season, with that extending into the regular season for a No. 13 patch to be worn on the jersey of each player on the team. On top of that, during the regular season home opener, the team will hand out patches to their fans following a minute of silence for the incredibly brothers that will forever be loved and missed by the NHL community.

Finally, all the proceeds from the 50/50 at their regular season opener will go to the John and Matthew Gaudreau foundation, a fantastic gesture from a Blue Jackets team that are going through yet another tragedy in such a short time. After the Flames announced the way they will honour the brothers following the fan tributes, this just shows how much he meant to not only two NHL teams but their cities as well, so we hope these tributes will go a long way to showing his family just how beloved both of the brothers were.
