The 2024 NHL Draft is here, and just a day before the event, we now have details of a massive offer that was turned down by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

We've heard for weeks now that this NHL off-season is set to be chaos, and after several trades in the week leading up to the draft, now the fun officially begins. There are often trades made once the draft has begun, but according to Pierre LeBrun, we almost got a blockbuster deal done the day before.

«It's always an interesting time of year leading right into the first round of the draft on Friday. What we're being told is that the Flyers made a pretty aggressive pitch to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday, offering a swap of first-round picks, a roster player, and perhaps next year's first-round pick as part of a package to try and get the fourth overall pick. I believe the answer was no but it doesn't mean they can't try again.»

Rumours have been swirling that the Columbus Blue Jackets are open for business with their No. 4 overall pick, but the deal that was for a reported three first-round picks as well as a roster player from Philadelphia simply wasn't enough to get it done. It appears there's also interest from Utah to move out of their first-round pick, and with so many prospects and draft picks ready to move, tonight should be chaos in the best way for the NHL.
