The Columbus Blue Jackets waited just one season to move on from Pascal Vincent, and now, they're eyeing a very intriguing replacement.

From all reports, the future is bright with the Columbus Blue Jackets, who have stockpiled some talented prospects, but in the present, things haven't gone well. The team ended 2023-24 sitting last place in the Metropolitan Division, and with one of their top stars Patrik Laine wanting out, the 2024-25 season may not be much better.
At this point however, the team need to focus on landing a Head Coach, and according to Kevin Weekes, the team are eyeing former Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft.
Among the top candidates for @BlueJacketsNHL HC is Jay Woodcroft. Young, vibrant, relates well to today's athletes, has had playoff success including a Stanley Cup 💍, and was a key part of the development & transformation in Edmonton. #cbj #HockeyX

While his tenure in Edmonton didn't end well, Woodcroft is well respected in the hockey world, and given the young roster coming through, he'd be expected to perform a similar role to that which he did with the young, emerging Oilers roster. Over 133 games with Edmonton, Woodcroft put together a record of 79-41-13, and while he wouldn't have a Connor McDavid on this roster, he deserves another shot in the NHL, with this job seemingly suiting him perfectly.
