Elliotte Friedman reveals Patrick Kane's free agency plans

Today a new report from NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has shed some light on the future of Patrick Kane in the NHL. According to the insider extraordinaire the veteran winger already has a plan for what he would like to do.
Elliotte Friedman has been busy at work the last few weeks preparing for the upcoming offseason in the NHL. One of the big stories he has an early scoop on is Detroit Red Wings pending free agent Patrick Kane. According to Elliotte Friedman and his sources Patrick Kane would like to find a home and stop the revolving door that has been new teams in recent years.But, you know, it was a bit of a different tone, which surprised me a bit. What that says to me and I understand this from his point of view, is that look, Chicago his whole career, and half year, or a quarter of a year last year with the Rangers. And now this year with Detroit.
He strikes me as a guy who wants the revolving door to stop. He wants to go to one place and stay in one place for a little bit of time.

As Elliotte Friedman continued he talked about the situation from the Detroit Red Wings side of things. He believes that while they value Patrick Kane as a player they will not look to extend him for as long as he would want.
He's not going to give Kane four and five years. I don't think Kane expects that. But what it says to me is that Yzerman probably doesn't want to give as much term as Kane would like. And so we'll see how that plays out and Yzerman supposed to talk
This likely means that Patrick Kane will be taking yet another spin in free agency this season. With his offseason hip surgery from last year holding up well and a productive season under his belt, the suitors should be more plentiful this time around.
