Darnell Nurse has been a big talking point for the Oilers in recent times, but now the veteran has refused to comment on his current injury status. This off-season has been a wild one for the Edmonton Oilers, with the team acquiring several intriguing names, extending one of their biggest stars, adding a new, controversial GM and unfortunately dealing with some big time injuries. There's one thing that is yet to be clarified however, and that's the health status of Darnell Nurse, who has been rumoured to be dealing with some issues, but when he was asked about it, the veteran chose not to answer. «They get to answer that,» he said. «I'm not going to dive into injury or whatever I'm not going to dive into it.»

It's still quite unclear whether or not Nurse will be 100% and ready to go for the regular season, but despite all reports, he likely won't be out like fellow veteran Evander Kane who has to undergo some major surgeries. Despite being one of the highest paid defenseman in the NHL, Nurse has struggled mightily in recent years on a talented team, posting 32 points and just a +3 on a Stanley Cup Finals team a year ago, and with one of the biggest contracts in the league, he remains under incredible scrutiny. The team have added to their blue line this summer with the return of Troy Stecher and the addition of Ty Emberson, but will still look to add a star on the blue line to hopefully bring out the best in Nurse, but for now, he'll spend the next few weeks looking to get back to 100% before a crucial 2024/25 season.
