Almost 20 games into the NHL season the Edmonton Oilers are still out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and one Oilers reporter has had enough of the team's struggles. After making the Stanley Cup Finals last season and falling short by one game to the Florida Panthers expectations were high for the Edmonton Oilers. To begin the season, the Edmonton Oilers have not looked like a Stanley Cup-caliber team and have struggled in every area of the game. With those struggles throughout their lineup, the Edmonton Oilers find themselves in 9th place in the Western Conference and still looking for answers on how to turn things around. Of course, Kris Knoblauch only took over in Edmonton in the middle last season and did a great job resurrecting the season. However, if he can't get things back on track soon will he have a short leash before new GM Stan Bowman pulls the trigger and finds a new head coach. Keep in mind that Kris Knoblauch was not Stan Bowman's hire but was there before he took over the role so there could be some natural tension there. At the moment a coaching change is not in the cards but if the Edmonton Oilers continue to slide the conversation could begin about making a drastic change.
