A close source to the Edmonton Oilers has revealed the free agency plans of Leon Draisaitl, and a resign does not seem likely. With the Edmonton Oilers starting their push for the Stanley Cup at the end of this season, there has been rumours starting to float around about the future of Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton. Some might say that a resigning is most likely going to happen but there has been nothing taken into account that Evan Bouchard's contract also expires in the same offseason as Draisaitl's. On BPM Sports, Georges Laraque and Stephane Gonzalez were discussing the future of the star forward in Edmonton saying that he likely will end up not resigning with the Oilers. Laraque was informed this from a close source to the Oilers. This is what Georges Laraque had to say about it, He wants to be the top center on a team [...] The team's fate this year will determine what happens with him,

The contract situation in Edmonton is looking tough but with the salary cap rising some are suggesting that it will be no problem to give Draisaitl the amount of money he wants. This offseason will be a big indicator of the 28 year old's future with the team.
