The full video after the Edmonton Oilers got off the ice following a series of losses in the Finals has surfaced, and Connor McDavid can be seen losing his mind.

Connor McDavid stands in the middle of the Edmonton Oilers locker room and starts talking in a very clear, commanding voice with raw intensity. The pitch is laced with expletives, as what he's saying shows a rarely seen side of the usually composed captain. With the Stanley Cup on the line, McDavid's frustration reveals the urgency his team feels after falling 2-0 behind in the final series against the Florida Panthers.

The emotional scene was caught on camera, though partially obscured by an Oilers staff member holding up a black curtain. It's just one of many behind-the-scenes moments featured in "Faceoff: Inside the NHL," a six-part documentary debuting Friday on Prime Video. It's a rare look at life in and out of the NHL, highs and lows. Where other reality shows featuring the NHL have focused on teams, this series gives the mirror to individual stars, providing viewers an intimate view of stars such as McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and several other top names throughout the league.

One of the central stories of the series had to do with how McDavid's Oilers responded to his rallying cry. After falling behind 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Final, the Oilers battled back to force a Game 7 in what became an instant classic series full of dramatic momentum swings. The season ultimately would end in heartbreak for the Oilers as they suffered a narrow loss to the Panthers. Poignant, touching moments are what make "Faceoff" more than a sports documentary; it's almost a porthole into the raw emotion of some of hockey's biggest stars.

For traditionally private athletes, opening personal lives up to the fans is gradually becoming something that hockey players will embrace. Hyman, very much front and centre in the series, says he probably won't watch the final episode, but the show was intended to be enjoyed by hardcore hockey fans and those who might be new to the sport. Players like Hyman and Filip Forsberg believe it could do for hockey what Netflix's "Drive to Survive" did for Formula One, attracting new sets of eyes to the sport by putting names to faces and faces to names.

As "Faceoff" follows the action-packed lives of professional hockey players, this series leaves nothing to the imagination, from painful moments often out of public sight to Connor McDavid's wild speech in the locker room and the last tears of defeat, viewers are going to be brought front and center through the triumphs and heartbreak of NHL superstars. For the first time, the fans will get a front-row seat to the soul-revealing journey of their favorite players, a whole new experience in sports.
