The DoPS announced a suspension hearing for a Tampa Bay Lightning forward after his actions in last night's preseason game against the Florida Panthers. Fans got to watch another action-packed preseason clash yesterday. A star-studded Lightning lineup faced the Panthers who decided to send what looked like an AHL lineup. In those games, as we often saw in the preseason so far, some AHLers decide to go after NHL stars to get noticed by their coaching staff. That's what happened with Josh Davies, a Panthers' prospect who was forced to drop the gloves against Nikita Kucherov after a violent hit on Victor Hedman. Watch the fight in the following link! Following that incident, Conor Geekie decided to drop the gloves against Davies, and his actions will have consequences. Click here to watch Geekie's fight. The NHL Department of Player Safety revealed that Geekie will have a hearing today, for leaving the bench with the intention of starting an altercation. Frank Seravalli shared futher details, saying that Geekie doesn't face the 10-game automatic suspension because it was a legal line change and it wasn't to join an altercation, it was to start one.

We should have an update on Geekie's fate this afternoon.
