After months of waiting, Evander Kane has now officially had surgery, and he's quickly made comments about the road back to the Edmonton Oilers.

Over the past few days, there's been much information and opinion shared about the future of Evander Kane, but ultimately, the veteran forward revealed that he had to have a surgery that would keep him out for a long time.

Despite trying to simply rest and rehab his injuries, it just wasn't enough, and now he has officially undergone surgery to repair a multitude of incredibly tough injuries that hampered him throughout last season. After undergoing surgery, Kane shared a message on social media, and it's safe to say that fans are very optimistic he could return at some point this season.

Successful surgery, long road ahead but very greatful for my amazing surgeons and nurses.

Recently, one doctor in British Columbia said there was no comparable for the surgery Kane was about to undergo, and predicted that he will be out until at least 2025, and may not take the ice again this season as the chase the Stanley Cup. Whatever the situation, this was the right step for Kane and the team, and now he will begin the long road back with the hopes of returning before the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2025.
