After their 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers to even the Western Conference finals at a game apiece, the Dallas Stars stirred up controversy by playing "La Bamba" in their arena.

That song holds a special place in the hearts of Oilers fans. For years, they've been blasting it after every home game win as a tribute to Joey Moss, a beloved member of the Oilers family, and Ben Stelter, a young fan who tragically lost his battle with cancer.

A beautiful tribute to Ben Stelter.

Play La Bamba, Baby. 🧡💙

The Dallas Stars just played *La Bamba* at American Airlines Center after the Stars beat the Oilers.

Bad Karma. They just Jinxed themselves badly.

Would be surprised if they win another game this series.

Lore check for those in need, the @EdmontonOilers play «La Bamba» as tribute to Joey Moss who passed in 2020, it was his favorite song. Ben Stelter who was close to the team popularized «Play La Bamba Baby» passed in 2022. It's about as sacred as the anthem for the team.

There was shock and outrage in Edmonton after the Stars decided to play it after their victory against the Oilers. When you win, do it with class. They completely disrespected the Oilers' tradition and the memories of those they've honored with that song.
