On Friday, December 6, <a href='https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/montreal-canadiens-acquire-d-noel-hoefenmayer-from-edmonton-oilers-for-f-jacob-perreault-1.2215808' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the Edmonton Oilers and the Montreal Canadiens finalized a one-for-one trade</a>: 25-year-old defenseman Noel Hoefenmayer went to the Canadiens, while the Oilers picked up 22-year-old forward Jacob Perreault. <div align='center'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/thefourthperiod/status/1865116683238531153'> </a></blockquote></div> <a href='https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/player/noel-hoefenmayer-8480202' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Noel Hoefenmayer</a>, selected 108th overall <a href='https://www.eliteprospects.com/draft/nhl-entry-draft/team/72/arizona-coyotes' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Draft</a>, played his junior hockey in the OHL with the Ottawa 67's, recording 14 goals and 26 assists for 40 points in 62 games. He currently plays for the <a href='https://www.bakersfieldcondors.com/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Bakersfield Condors</a> of the AHL, where he has one goal and six assists in 11 games this season. In 149 AHL games, Hoefenmayer has 21 goals and 51 assists for 72 points but has yet to play in an NHL game. <a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/player/jacob-perreault-8482150' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Jacob Perreault</a> was selected 27th overall in <a href='https://www.markerzone.com/hockey/stats/nhl/draft.php?a=2020' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks</a> following a standout season with the OHL's Sarnia Sting where he posted 39 goals and 31 assists for 70 points in 57 games. This season, he has zero goals in six AHL games with <a href='https://www.rocketlaval.com/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the Laval Rocket</a>, but in five ECHL contests, he has one goal and four assists. During his AHL career, he has 33 goals and 60 assists for 93 points in 180 games.
