After going down 3-0 in the Stanley Cup Finals it seems like the time has come for the Edmonton Oilers to seriously consider benching goalie Stuart Skinner. The Edmonton Oilers have come out completely flat in the Stanley Cup Finals. Despite many fans believing this series would be close between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers it has been anything but close. One of the reasons for this series not going the way many had thought is the poor play of Stuart Skinner. Stuart Skinner in the finals: 0-3 record 59/68 saves .868 sv% 2.16 more goals allowed than expected Is this who Edmonton runs it back with next year?

While Stuart Skinner has struggled he has not been nearly the only issue on the Edmonton Oilers. Their top five offensive weapons also have not played anywhere near expectations. Draisaitl, McDavid, Hyman, Nugent-Hopkins & Bouchard have combined for 0 goals in the Stanley Cup Final Florida Panthers lead the series 3-0 Need your stars to show up when it matters

Stuart Skinner sitting down might be the change in momentum the Oilers need
The Edmonton Oilers need something to change heading into Game 4. Of course, they are not going to scratch any of their star skaters. However, they have shown a willingness to switch goaltenders earlier in the playoffs. In his first ever start in the #StanleyCup Playoffs, Calvin Pickard gets the win in a massive Game 4 victory for the Edmonton Oilers

In Round 2 the Oilers found themselves struggling much like they are in the Stanley Cup Finals. They turned to Calvin Pickard and he got the momentum back before Stuart Skinner came back in refreshed and went on a tear. If the Oilers could survive one game with Calvin Pickard in net to get things back on track it could save the series. The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers will go head to head in Game 4 on Saturday. Morning skate on the day of the game will give a preview of what the lineups could look like.
