Canadiens fans put Leafs fans to shame by showing true respect for Johnny Gaudreau

The Montreal Canadiens and their fans paid a heartwarming tribute to Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau and were very respectful, unlike Leafs fans.

The Montreal Canadiens organization showed a very touching gesture as they gave tribute to Johnny Gaudreau, turning that moment into one that their fans will remember for their lifetime. The Canadiens fans at the Bell Centre didn't say a word; they were respectful during the entire time of the tribute. Of course, this respect was very classy and showed the magnitude of the level this meant to the Gaudreau family.

This was completely opposite of the respectless moment that happened when Toronto Maple Leafs fans at Scotiabank Arena disrupted a similar tribute the night before, whereas Montreal's fans showed class throughout the full moment. No one disrupted, nobody chanted, and absolutely nobody took away from the moment that was being paid to the Gaudreau family. That was indeed a very powerful statement.

The tribute at the Bell Centre was pure, straight silence for 13 seconds. Seldom does a structure of that size get so still. That told something about the love the Canadiens community holds for Johnny Gaudreau and his family.

For Montreal Canadiens' Cole Caufield, who was in attendance, this had to mean even more. Being this close to Johnny Gaudreau, a stamp had to have been left on him and he likely had chills from this ceremony. As Caufield prepares to hit the ice adorning his symbolic number 13 in honor of Johnny Gaudreau, this is a tribute he will always remember.

It was the respectful silence of that tribute at the Bell Centre that spoke volumes to a class that few fanbases can match. It paid respect to the Gaudreau family like no others would. And it proved to be one of the most beautiful and unforgettable moments opposed by a very classless act in Toronto.
