Montreal Canadiens fans, turn away, as Kevin Bieksa had some nasty comments to say about how poorly the team and certain players have been so far.

Former NHL'er Kevin Bieksa has shown his frustration towards the Montreal Canadiens' performance thus far into the season. He aired his frustrations on "Hockey Night in Canada" during an intermission segment, openly critiquing most of the Canadiens roster. As known for his candid analysis, Bieksa did not hold back when it came to his dissatisfaction with the way the team is playing from last season, leaving fans and analysts to question the direction of the team.

Bieksa took shots at just about every player on the Canadiens, except one. He even called out certain players, insinuating that they are not playing to the level they established last year. As harsh as those words from Bieksa may have come across, they do shed light on greater concerns within the hockey world about how recent times in Montreal have been, considering the progress they've made. To fans, this might echo frustrations they've felt while watching the team struggle this season.

Of all of Bieksa's comments, he was perhaps the most pointed regarding some of the big-name players of the Canadiens. His comments seemed to call out some leaders on the team who simply haven't been playing to their potential, a consistent gripe from close followers of the team. As such, these criticisms seem to insinuate that Bieksa thinks changes are needed within the core of the roster if the Canadiens want to begin turning things around.

«Everyone else has kind of flatlined,» said Bieksa. «You think about [Kaiden] Guhle, you think about some of their young players, even [Nick] Suzuki, he's kind of flatlined.»

Notably, Bieksa also brought in enforcer Arber Xhekaj, who similarly has found his fair share of critics among both fans and commentators alike. The play of Xhekaj has been a cause for concern as of late, and Bieksa certainly gives credence to the thought that perhaps his role on the team should be revisited. With the mention of Xhekaj, Bieksa honed in on an area in which the Canadiens appear to come up short with regard to grit and influence.

"Everyone else has kind of flatlined," said Bieksa. "You think about [Kaiden] Guhle, you think about some of their young players, even [Nick] Suzuki, he's kind of flatlined."

And then there's Arber Xhekaj," began Bieksa. "A guy that I love the way he plays but he's had a really tough season... there's too many mistakes on the ice, there's too many mistakes in the game within the game."

With a record of 4-6-1 and the worst goal differential in the NHL's Atlantic Division at -15, it doesn't take much to realize the struggles of the Canadiens. And that bluntness from Kevin Bieksa underlines the painful truth, the problems with Montreal run deep, and they have an uphill battle if they hope to compete this year. That remains to be seen if the team is able to regroup and find their form, but maybe Bieksa's critique is the wake-up call that will get them going.
