Shane Wright has been an exciting prospect for the future of the Seattle Kraken, and now his newest Head Coach sees a major role for him in 2024/25. Two years ago, the Seattle Kraken shockingly landed Shane Wright with the No. 4 overall pick, and after some frustrating development, he's reportedly set for a big role this season. In 2023/24, Wright split his time between the AHL and the NHL, showing great flashes in 8 games with the Kraken, netting four goals and 5 points to show that he's ready for the opportunity. Now, with new Head Coach Dan Bylsma taking over, he has given a great update on Wright's future, making it appear as though he will get the opportunity he needs next season. «I think this year served as a great opportunity for him to establish himself as a player,» Byslma said. «Just put his head down, play 72 games, play playoff games, and work on his game and develop as a person and as a player. I think that's clearly evident. It was great to see his progression throughout the year.»

At just 20-years of age, Wright has unlimited potential down the middle, and with the Kraken needing a young center of the future alongside Matty Beniers, he could fill that role perfectly. With 16 games of NHL experience under his belt, the future is bright for the Kraken, and if developed propoerly, they may have a few franchise stars down the middle.
