The Seattle Kraken have pulled off a questionable move last night as it was announced that they have sent down trending prospect Shane Wright to the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the Kraken's AHL team after a brief stay with the big club.

It hasn't been the start many were expecting to Shane Wright's career, some may have argued he would be in the NHL on a consistent basis as of last year. However, Shane Wright who was the projected 1st overall pick in 2022, fell all the way to fourth, a decision that has altered his career forever. On Friday night, the Kraken announced the end of his stinct in the NHL, by sending him to the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

You can call it a successful eight games with the Seattle Kraken, as the centre posted up five goals and two assists, just short of point per game during his brief run with Seattle.

Many are speculating that the forward was sent down in an attempt to not burn his first year of his contract, as one more game would set his contract to year 2 the following season.

Wright however, has every reason to be upset with this decision, especially seeing guys from his draft class thriving in the NHL such as Juraj Slafkovsky, Logan Cooley, and the recent signing of Lane Hutson from the Montreal Canadiens who is set to make his debut Monday.
