For the most part, Nikita Kucherov is one of the NHL's more respected players, but that doesn't excuse his actions in the Lightning's latest game. Despite seeing Kaiden Guhle's numbers the whole way, Kucherov decided to go on and finish a brutal hit on the boards, and it may cost him some games.





Somehow, this play resulted in no call from the officials, but when the NHL take a look at this, they'll see one of the most unnecessary hits in recent memory, and it will be no surprise when he hears from the league office tomorrow. This game is currently tied at 1 in the first period, and after these actions, there may be a revenge play from Montreal, and while physicality is great in the NHL, this was not needed at all, and the type of play that the league have tried to get rid of.
