The Toronto Maple Leafs have many tough decisions to make this offseason. One of them is whether or not they should re-sign Tyler Bertuzzi. We know know what that contract might look like. Of course, it would take both the Leafs and Bertuzzi to want to make a deal happen in order for the forward to stay in Toronto. Luckily for the Leafs, Bertuzzi has already expressed a desire to stay with the team. As a result, it should be easy for the team to re-sign him unless money becomes an issue. Tyler Bertuzzi says he's open to re-signing with Maple Leafs. His family loved it in Toronto! Personally I loved Bert he gave 110% every game! I think we sign him for sure! What do you think #LeafNation ?

Money could very well be tight for the Leafs this summer. After all, they have another high-profile free agent they may want to re-sign in Max Domi. Both Domi and Bertuzzi were integral parts of the Leafs in the playoffs this year, as they both tallied 4 points, for a three-way tie to lead the team along with Auston Matthews. The Leafs have some key players they need to re-sign in the offseason but they may not be able to keep everyone. If they have to choose, would you prefer to keep Max Domi or Tyler Bertuzzi? 🤔

Bertuzzi showed up when it mattered most in game seven as well, recording an assist on the team's only goal of the game.

According to Evolving Hockey, Bertuzzi is projected to make between 3 and 7 million dollars against the cap on his next deal, depending on how long the deal is. As he is already 29, the Leafs will likely look for something in the 3-5 year range. At that contract length, they would be looking at an average-annual-value between 5 and 6 million dollars according to the model. 1 Year: $3.15M 2 Years: $4.03M 3 Years: $4.93M 5 Years: $5.95M 6 Years: $5.98M 7 Years: $5.8M 8 Years: $6.5M Regardless of how things shake out, it will certainly be an interesting offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Be sure to stay in touch with news surrounding the team as they look to re-sign Bertuzzi, Domi, and make other changes to the roster heading into next season.
