Craig Berube has hilarious reaction to his first ridiculous question in the role of Maple Leafs Head Coach

Coaching in Toronto presents many different challenges, and now Head Coach Craig Berube has faced one of those with a ridiculous question from the media.

The Toronto Maple Leafs players, coaches and executives face arguably the hardest media market in the sports world, and while that comes with plenty of pressure and expectation, it also comes with plenty of ridiculous questions from the media. After being signed as the teams Head Coach this past off-season, Craig Berube has faced his first standout question, and it's safe to say that his reaction to it was hilarious.

The question posed to Berube was about the pre-season, and whether an 0-2 start should be forcing the players and the coaching staff to hit the panic button, with his reply being a very concise 'no'.

"No. It's preseason. It's preseason, so... We're looking at preparing for the regular season. It's the second game. We're looking at young guys. We're looking at players. So, you know, that's what it's about."

In any sport or any media market, this question would be absolutely ridiculous, but given that the Maple Leafs have one of the NHL's most talented rosters and have been playing plenty of prospects in those two games, it becomes even more idiotic, and fans reacted in much the same way as Berube. Now, if the full roster starts the season 0-5 or struggles through their first 15-20 games, there's a question to be asked, but after the New Jersey Devils and Calgary Flames both dominated the pre-season a year ago only to miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we all know the results are completely meaningless.

This won't be the last time that Berube faces questions that deserve reactions like this in Toronto, so he better get used to the media circus, but on his first attempt, it's safe to say that he handled things very well.
