Changes are to come on the horizon in Toronto, but it won't involve Brendan Shanahan as he is staying as president of the Maple Leafs according to latest story in Toronto based on latest schedule change. The Leafs first round exit will cost the jobs of many players, such as maybe Mitch Marner, perhaps head coach Sheldon Keefe, but not president Brendan Shanahan. According to Elliotte Friedman over at Sportsnet, the team has scheduled a news conference for Friday, and Shanahan is on the guest list. That's definitely a positive sign that he's sticking around, which is a relief for a lot of fans. The Toronto Maple Leafs announce season-ending media availability will involve Keith Pelley, Brendan Shanahan and Brad Treliving Friday morning.

Not involved in this press conference is Sheldon Keefe, who instead spoke today with the other players in a quite emotional press conference with signs pointing to the end of his tenure as the Leafs head coach. Now more than ever I believe in myself and our team in that I will win, and our team will win [...] that decision is out of my control.

The Leafs failed again to execute, sometime that is deemed unacceptable this time, and changes will be made in what seems to be a new era in Toronto and perhaps the end of the Leafs core four shall a fair deal be sprung across.
