Major blockbuster trade proposition released between the Bruins and Leafs

One of the biggest blockbuster trade proposals has just surfaced involving the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. Marner and McAvoy are the main culprits.

Mitch Marner is used to all the rumors surrounding his name lately, however the opposite could be said for Charlie McAvoy, who hasn't been in too many of those discussions. Now, @CapWages on X has revealed that there could be a blockbuster one-for-one trade happening: Marner for McAvoy.

The Leafs could use some help on defense. The addition of McAvoy would solve a lot of those problems, and losing Marner wouldn't be a huge issue for Toronto as they have plenty of internally skilled players that could fill in.

A major issue that would likely block a trade like this from happening is the rivalry that both teams have with each other. Not only are they both in the same division, but they could both be fighting for positioning, as both teams are expected to have near identical records next season. The Bruins likely wouldn't feel comfortable improving the Leafs defense by sending them McAvoy, and the Leafs likely wouldn't want to add to Boston's offensive firepower by shipping them Marner.

The likelihood of Marner being traded if the Leafs can't come to an agreement with him on a contract extension is high, but it most probably won't be to the Bruins for McAvoy.
