The offseason has been productive for the Toronto Maple Leafs but the team has not acquired a big-time forward so far but a new mock trade could change that. The Toronto Maple Leafs came into the 2024 offseason with several needs. After firing head coach Sheldon Keefe and hiring Craig Berube the changes could begin. The trade would send 2024 all-star Ryan Strome and former second-round pick Brett Leason to the Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs would be giving up significant defensive depth in this trade. Firstly consistent top-four defenseman Timothy Liljegren would be heading out of town. At 25 years old Timothy Liljegren is one of the youngest defensemen on the roster. They also would lose one of their most NHL-ready prospect defensemen in Topi Niemela.
