This morning the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced via insider Elliotte Friedman that they have fired head coach Sheldon Keefe. The move comes just days after the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs by the Boston Bruins.

Today reports have come in from several sources but first was reported by Elliotte Friedman confirming that Sheldon Keefe is no longer the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto is making a coaching change. Sheldon Keefe is out.

The news comes days after Sheldon Keefe during a press conference admitted that teams know how to let the Toronto Maple Leafs beat themselves.

Now just a few days later Sheldon Keefe is out and Brad Treliving will begin a new coaching search. Many expect that coaching search to begin and end with veteran head coach Craig Berube.

Now the Toronto Maple Leafs will have to find a new bench boss in the coming days. With a press conference scheduled for Friday it is possible the team already knows who they will hire.
